Have you one?

Is there something you go to when thoughts and feelings apparently drown the sensibilities from your mind?
There should be one..

Two quotes to rmbr

this is what kenrus yee says about "Inception"
Inception is so awesome!
A word leads to a changed thought leads to a changed character leads to a changed destiny!
this is what Mal often says in the film,
You're waiting for a train. A train that will take you far away. You can't be sure where it will take you. But it doesn't matter - because we'll be together.
I love this.

Inception is my movie...

"Inception" by Christopher Nolan. This movie has struck more chords than one in me.It has drawn me to watch it not so much because it has hit US box office big time but because of the legendary name of Nolan, the man who
is obsessed with the human mind. This movie undeniably articulates my mind,it is brilliant in its generous showcase of the enigma of art and science.Dreams, the pivot of this movie, are assiduously  studied,dissected,re-created,as though meant for a dreamer like myself. Just heard that there are up to 6 interpretations for this movie but Im staying true to what I first understood. The ability to construct a whole new by the power of the mind is an amazing human feat,a great vortex of a mystery that is eternally insolvable. They say artists have that,to see an angel in the stone the way Michelangelo did,how we envision our artistic creations by a pure plug-in of imagination. "Inception" must the treasure trove of Nolan's lifework .It crackles with his passion that lends a cautionary tale to us never to stop believing in him.

The World of Trompe-l'œil (pronounced in French as "tom play")

Hi,
Since I have set the assignment, I can bend the rules. Instead of posting 1 image, I have greedily posted 5.
Always a fervent lover of street art for its activist spirit, these pieces of street art never fail to impress me.
Why are they realistic?
1) They trick the eye with the "trompe l'oeil" technique. According to Wiki, this technique creates extremely realistic imagery in order to create the optical illusion that the depicted objects appear in three dimensions, instead of actually being a two-dimensional painting.
2) They depict real-life elements -- e.g. humans in correct proportions, the coke bottle and laptop
3) The humans' expressions are not exaggerated or set up in theatrical dramatic ways.
4) The contrast of light and shadow used is apparent especially in that of the coke bottle.
5) The monumental scale of the floor painting allows one to be fully immersed in the experience of viewing the work.
6) It duplicates reality as close as possible.
7) It invites interaction because of its impressive scale and realism in the technique.
8) It creates the possibility of another world by transporting us into the creation of another reality (which is one of the main functions of Art)
9) It does not defy gravity.
10) The rendering of the water is extremely realistic with the transparency created.
